Devizes now has a brand-new medical facility thanks to an $11 million NHS investment.
One of the first integrated care facilities in the area, it can house everything from GP consultations to outpatient and community mental health services.
Four neighborhood general practices will be able to refer their patients to the center for same- or next-day care.
There will also be a base for services like physiotherapy and blood testing.
The new center will offer services to the expanding local population and develop further improved services for our community, according to Stephanie Elsy, chair of Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board.
"We are aware that having a variety of services available under one roof is crucial and that doing so will benefit our population's health in a number of ways. ".
The cutting-edge building is a pioneer in environmentally friendly architecture.
The facility, one of the NHS's first net zero structures, has an energy EPC rating of A and uses solar panels and heat pumps to produce electricity and heat for the building. .
Patients will find it simpler to access the local care they require thanks to the ability to be referred to the new health center from the Lansdowne Surgery, Market Lavington Surgery, St. James Surgery, and Southbroom Surgery. .
The health center will also offer the community services that Wiltshire Health and Care currently offers at the Devizes Community Hospital.
The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust and some of the community mental health services of the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust will also offer a variety of outpatient services. .
The residents of Devizes should be extremely proud to have such a first-rate facility right on their doorstep, which will unavoidably make towns and cities across the nation green with envy, according to Dr. Richard Sandford-Hill, a GP partner at Market Lavington Surgery.
