It appears that a walrus that attracted attention when it was spotted off the south and east coasts of England has made it to Iceland.
The animal, known as Thor, first surfaced in Hampshire in December. It then spent the New Year in Scarborough and traveled an additional 70 miles to Blyth, Northumberland.
On Friday, it was said that the walrus was in Breidalsvk, Iceland.
According to British Divers Marine Life Rescue, Thor's identity could be verified by markings.
After Thor's visit to the UK, a spokesman said, "We pondered whether we would ever see him again.".
"We are happy that he is in Iceland, as we just learned. ".
According to reports, Thor traveled 850 miles (1360 kilometers) from Blyth to Breidalsvk on the east coast of Iceland, where he was seen standing on a pontoon.
According to BDLMR, photos taken in Scarborough could be used to match the animal's foreflippers' pale patches.
The walrus, which is estimated to be between three and five years old, attracted large crowds to the North Yorkshire resort on December 30 after being seen on a slipway.
The town's New Year's Eve fireworks were postponed so as not to frighten him, and he later made an appearance at the Royal Northumberland Yacht Club in Blyth, 70 miles up the coast.
On December 12, Thor had spent a number of hours at Calshot Beach, which is close to Southampton.
He is known to have traveled to Dieppe, France, and the Netherlands in 2022, and it is speculated that he may have come all the way from the Canadian Arctic.
After the Calshot appearance, Rod Downie of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) predicted that Thor would attempt to return to the arctic waters.
