After a sting operation by a local television station, the chairman of India's cricket selection committee resigned.
Former All-Star cricketer Chetan Sharma was caught on camera making shocking claims about the selection process and specific players.
The video caused a stir when it gained popularity on social media.
Sharma "resigned voluntarily," according to a senior cricket official, and his resignation was accepted.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed to PTI news agency that Chetan Sharma had submitted his resignation to Jay Shah.

Mr. Sharma was reappointed last month after serving in the position since December 2020.
On Tuesday, Zee TV aired video of him discussing issues pertaining to the men's cricket team.
He claimed in the video that Sourav Ganguly, the former BCCI president, and Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Indian team, had "ego clashes.".
He asserted that Mr. Kohli had made a false claim that the governing body had not informed him of his removal as ODI captain.
This subject didn't need to be discussed. However, he [Mr Kohli] did it on purpose," Mr Sharma is heard saying in the video.
Additionally, he claimed that some athletes play even though they are not match-fit and use injections to hasten their recovery from injuries.
Since the video was released, Mr. Sharma has not offered any public commentary.
