Sean Dyche has been hired by Everton on a two and a half year contract that runs through June 2025. .
Last week, with the Toffees 19th in the Premier League and two points outside of safety, they fired Frank Lampard.
Dyche, 51, had been jobless since Burnley fired him in April of last year, ending nearly ten years of service to the Clarets.
Since joining the team in February 2016 as a majority shareholder, Farhad Moshiri has appointed seven different managers.
In a statement, Dyche said it was "an honor to become Everton manager" and noted that his first game in charge will be a top-flight matchup at home on 4 February against league leaders Arsenal.
"My staff and I are ready and eager to help get this great club back on track," he continued.
"I am aware of the devoted Everton supporters and the value they place on the club. We're prepared to get to work and to fulfill their requests.
"That starts with sweat on the shirt, effort, and returning to some of the core values that Everton Football Club has long stood for.
"Our goal is to restore a positive mood. Fans, unity, and agreement from everyone are necessary for success. As players and staff, we must lead by example.
"Our goal is to field a team that toils, battles, and proudly wears the badge. Consequently, due to their fervor, the relationship with the fans can develop very quickly.
This squad contains talented players. However, we must make them shine. I and my team are responsible for that. ".
In addition to former England international Steve Stone serving as first team coach, Dyche will have former Nottingham Forest winger Ian Woan serving as his assistant manager at Goodison Park.
Dyche quickly persuaded the board, according to chairman Bill Kenwright, that he had "exactly the right attributes to make himself a great Everton manager.".
Burnley finished in the top half of the Premier League twice under Dyche's leadership, earning two promotions from the Championship and earning their first European qualification in 51 years after finishing seventh in 2017–18.
After hosting Arsenal, Everton's next match is on the road against Merseyside rivals Liverpool on February 13. Everton has 18 games left to play.
Marcelo Bielsa, the former manager of Leeds United, was a candidate for the position and met with Everton's leadership.
